a new twist on sweet spiced apple butter for two
Just thaught that I'd change some ingredients in my crock pot recipe for apple butter. Turned out pretty good and made enough for the two of us. Kept well in the refrigerator for about 3 weeks.

Ingredients
- 4 cups (about 1 1/4 pound) peeled and chopped granny smith apples
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons balsomic vinegar
- 4 tablespoons butter, divided
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Step 1Combine chopped apples, sugar, vinegar, 2 tablespoons of butter, cinnamon, salt and cloves in a crock pot; slow cooker.

Step 2Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.

Step 3Remove lid and add remining 2 tablespoons of butter and vanilla. Stir and mix well.

Step 4Turn off crock pot and place in a container to completely cool. Place lid on container and refrigerate. Keeps well for 3 weeks.
