I started my cooking career as a salad girl in a local seafood restaurant called the "Seafarer's Inn" in Lockport, NY. One of my jobs was to make this dressing by the gallon weekly.

1 Tbsp
apple cider vinegar
1-2 tsp
1/4 c
heinz ketchup
2 Tbsp
sweet pickle relish
hard cooked egg, finely chopped

How to Make Seafarer's Inn Thousand Island Dressing


  • 1In a medium bowl, blend mayonnaise with vinegar, sugar and ketchup.
  • 2Fold in the relish and egg. Cover and refrigerate.
  • 3Spoon over iceberg lettuce wedges, salad greens or sliced tomatoes. Makes about 1 3/4 cups.
