I started my cooking career as a salad girl in a local seafood restaurant called the "Seafarer's Inn" in Lockport, NY. One of my jobs was to make this dressing by the gallon weekly.

  • 1 c
    mayonnaise
  • 1 Tbsp
    apple cider vinegar
  • 1-2 tsp
    sugar
  • 1/4 c
    heinz ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp
    sweet pickle relish
  • 1
    hard cooked egg, finely chopped

How to Make Seafarer's Inn Thousand Island Dressing

Step-by-Step

  1. In a medium bowl, blend mayonnaise with vinegar, sugar and ketchup.
  2. Fold in the relish and egg. Cover and refrigerate.
  3. Spoon over iceberg lettuce wedges, salad greens or sliced tomatoes. Makes about 1 3/4 cups.
