We have been eating this dressing for years because none of us like bread dressing so I found this recipe in the Cleveland plain dealer when our children were small and they have all liked it and feed it to their familys now.

  • 1 lb
    hot breakfast sausage
  • 3
    celery stalks
  • 2
    bunches of green onions
  • 2
    cans of chicken broth
  • 2 cups
    instant minute rice
  • ·
    salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp
    sage, dried

How to Make Rice Dressing


  1. Cook rice and set aside to cool
  2. Cook sausage with chopped onion and chopped celery, add chicken stock add salt, pepper and sage
  3. add rice to chicken broth after cooling and cook ontop of stove for 15 minutes.
  4. pour into casserole dish and cook for 1/2 hr in oven just before serving.
