Ingredients

  • 3 slice
    bacon
  • 1/2 c
    red onion, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    cider vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground mustard
  • 1/8 tsp
    celery seed
  • 1/8 tsp
    pepper
  • 1 tsp
    cornstarch
  • 1/3 c
    cold water

How to Make Hot Bacon Dressing

Step-by-Step

  1. Cook bacon over medium heat until crisp. Using a slotted spoon, remove to paper towels to drain.
  2. In the drippings, saute onion until tender. Stir in the brown sugar, vinegar, salt, mustard, celery seed and pepper
  3. Combine cornstarch and water until smooth; stir into skillet.
  4. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 1-2 minutes or until thickened.
  5. Remove from the heat; pour over spinach and toss to coat. Sprinkle with bacon. Serve immediately.
