home made thousand island dressing
I learned to make this simple recipe when working in an Indiana University dormitory kitchen when I was in college in 1968. Its so easy but good. I use it to make Rueben Sandwiches when I don't want to buy a large bottle of Thousand Island.

Ingredients
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup catsup
- 2-3 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
- 1 - hard cooked egg, peeled and chopped
- - salt and pepper as desired
- - a little sugar, if desired

Step 1Mix all ingedients, except salt, pepper, and sugar in a small bowl. Taste and add amount of flavorings as desired. Use on salads, hamburgers, or Reuben sandwiches.
