One of my favorite old recipes, probably got it out of a newspaper, but at any rate I wanted to post it here for safe keeping.

Ingredients
- 1/3 cup whole mustard seeds
- 1/3 cup boiling water
- 1/3 cup warm water
- 1/3 cup powdered mustard
- 1 cup cider vinear
- 1/4 cup packed dark brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
How To Make country mustard

Step 1In a small bowl, combine mustard seeds, and 1/3 cup boiling water.

Step 2In another small bowl, combine powdered mustard with 1/3 cup warm water, set both bowls of mustards aside for 10 minutes for flavors to develop.

Step 3In a small saucepan, combine vinegar, brown sugar, flour, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, cinnamon, allspice, cloves and reserved mustards. Bring this to a boil stirring constantly. Cook and stir this for about 2 minutes or until it thickens nicely.

Step 4Pour into a small bowl, cover and refrigerate overnight.

Step 5Next day use a wire whisk, beat until smooth. Spoon into a container with a tight fitting lid. Refrigerate. Makes aprox. 2 cups.
