This dressing is highly flavored, so a little goes a long way, on salad greens. Excellent on fresh sliced tomatoes. Use as a marinade, as well. Originally from The Ultimate Southern Living Cookbook.

Ingredients
- 2/3 cup olive oil
- 1/3 cup red wine vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sugar or diabetic alternative
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil or 2 tsps. dried basil
- 1/4-1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
How To Make basil vinaigrette

Step 1Combine all ingredients, in a jar. Cover tightly, and shake vigorously. Store in refrigerator. Makes 1 cup.
