Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef or chuck browned & drained
  • 1 lge - onion diced
  • 1 lge - green pepper diced
  • 1 can tomatoes regular or petite diced
  • 1 lge can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup minute rice uncooked
  • 2 teaspoons chile powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 8 ounces shredded colbyjack cheese
  • 1 package tortilla chips

How To Make texas hash

  • Step 1
    After browning & draining ground beef add onion & green pepper. Cook until tender
  • Step 2
    Stir in other ingreds. (except the cheese)& heat through.
  • Step 3
    Pour into ungreased 2qt casserole dish. Cover w/foil & bake 1hr @ 350*
  • Step 4
    Uncover the last 10 mins & top w/shredded cheese. **Note If eating just a few servings at a time I just melt the cheese as we eat the hash**
  • Step 5
    Serve w/tortilla chips
