This a spicy salsa. It is great to cook with and also to add to any of your tacos or burritos. Photo is from the internet to show you what it should look like.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh tomatillos, husked and washed or 1 large can tomatillos
  • 8 - 10 - jalapeno or serrano peppers, roughly chopped
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped cilantro
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon chopped garlic
  • 1/2 cup lime juice or white vinager
  • - salt to taste

How To Make salsa verde

  • Step 1
    In a medium saucepan add fresh tomatillos, peppers and enough water to just cover. Salt lightly.
  • Step 2
    Cook for 15 minutes and drain.
  • Step 3
    If you are using canned tomatillos, just drain them and remove the clear skins.
  • Step 4
    Place tomatillos, peppers (stems removed), cilantro, onion, garlic and lime juice in food processor.
  • Step 5
    Process until almost smooth. Taste and add salt of needed.
