If you don't like this salsa to spicy you can use a sweet pepper instead of the hot peppers. Hope you really enjoy this.

Ingredients

  • 1 - dozen tomatillo's (soaked and cleaned)
  • 6 - dried chilies (anchos or the smaller variety )
  • 1/2 cup onion
  • - cilantro
  • - salt and pepper

How To Make roasted tomatillo salsa (mexican authentic)

  • Step 1
    Boil chilies and tomatillos in a saucepan for about 15 minutes. Process or blend and add onion and cilantro. Blend slightly more add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Step 2
    This seems like it's too simple, but this is a regional recipe from MEXICO and it's great tasting. Very simple and delicious.
  • Step 3
    It has a dark brownish roasted color.People would never guess it was made from tomatillo's. You can add tomatoes if you want to tame the heat. Great as a dip with fajitas
