mix-n-match no-cook spicy barbecue sauce

The idea here is to follow the RECIPE, and when it says "LIQUID" or "SWEETENER" or "SEASONING", you pick ONE ingredient from each of those lists, then assemble the recipe according to the directions, below. You can 'mix 'm match' your ingredients 'til your heart's content ... and get a different flavor each time! [And if I don't have grape jelly, I use blackberry; if I don't have red wine vinegar, I use raspberry or tarragon; if I don't have .... well, you get the idea! ha!]

Ingredients

  • RECIPE
  • 1 can condensed tomato soup
  • - liquid (see list)
  • 2 tablespoons sweetener (see list)
  • 2 tablespoons worcestershire
  • - seasoning (see list)
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • LIQUID
  • 1/4 cup cider vinegar
  • 1/3 cup lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup lime juice
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • SWEETENER
  • - brown sugar
  • - honey
  • - grape jam
  • - molasses
  • SEASONING
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
  • 2 teaspoons curry powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

How To Make mix-n-match no-cook spicy barbecue sauce

  • Step 1
    In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients; stir well. Store in refrigerator. Makes about 1-1/2 cups. Use to baste chicken, spareribs, lamb, hamburgers, or turkey.
