Follow the basic recipe, below. When you get to SOUP, SEASONING 1, SEASONING 2, and DIPPERS, choose ONE item from each of the lists, and assemble the recipe according to the basic directions, below. You can mix-n-match this for custom-made avocado dip every time you make it!

8-oz. cream cheese, softened
seasoning 1
seasoning 2

ripe avocado, peeled and seeded
dippers

SOUP

cream of celery
cream of shrimp
cream of chicken

SEASONING 1

1 Tbsp
finely diced onion
1 Tbsp
finely diced shallots
1 clove
garlic, minced or pressed

SEASONING 2

1 Tbsp
chili powder
2 tsp
finely chopped, seeded jalapeno peppers
1/4 tsp
hot pepper sauce

DIPPERS

tortilla chips
thinly sliced bagels, toasted
assorted raw vegetables

How to Make Mix-n-Match Avocado Dip

Step-by-Step

  • 1In a medium bowl with mixer at low speed, gradually beat SOUP into cream cheese until smooth. Beat in SEASONING 1 and SEASONING 2. Mash avocado; beat into soup mixture. Serve with DIPPERS. Makes about 2 cups.
