jalapeno & beer queso

This recipe cooks up creamy, just don't let it boil or it will separate.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces monterey jack cheese with jalapeno peppers, shredded
  • 8 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 1 cup beer, your favorite (regular or non alcoholic)
  • 1 teaspoon mustard, ground
  • 1 - 4 oz. cans sliced jalapenos, minced (optional - to your liking)

How To Make jalapeno & beer queso

  • Step 1
    In a large bowl, toss the cheeses with flour until coated.
  • Step 2
    In a medium saucepan, heat beer on medium heat until just starting to simmer. Slowly add the cheeses in small handfuls at a time while whisking constantly. Lower heat to low & whisk in mustard powder & sliced jalapenos (if using).
  • Step 3
    Mix well & transfer to a fondue pot, a bowl on a hot plate or small crock pot.
