French Onion Dip

  • 16 oz
    sour cream
  • 1 1/2 c
    yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 c
    beef stock (see recipe in "the basics")
  • ·
    kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
  • ·
    vegetable oil

How to Make French Onion Dip


  1. Add about 1 tablespoon vegetable oil to skillet and heat over medium heat.
  2. Add onions and season with salt and pepper. Cook slowly until caramelized and brown.
  3. Add beef stock and reduce to 1 tablespoon. Remove from heat and let cool to room temp.
  4. Combine onion mixture with sour cream and stir to mix well.
