Ingredients

sour cream
1 1/2 c
yellow onion, thinly sliced
2 c
beef stock (see recipe in "the basics")
kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
vegetable oil

How to Make French Onion Dip

Step-by-Step

  • 1Add about 1 tablespoon vegetable oil to skillet and heat over medium heat.
  • 2Add onions and season with salt and pepper. Cook slowly until caramelized and brown.
  • 3Add beef stock and reduce to 1 tablespoon. Remove from heat and let cool to room temp.
  • 4Combine onion mixture with sour cream and stir to mix well.
