I have never made this with another kind of cream soup, but I would imagine cheddar cheese soup, cream of chicken, cream of celery, etc., would yield interesting results. This is not an original recipe, my mom used to make it...and I think she found it in a magazine years ago. It is so simple and delicious.
1Just before time to serve, put soup and cream cheese into a microwave proof bowl. Microwave full power 10-15 seconds and stir. Repeat until the ingredients have transformed into a lovely, warm, fluffy, yummy melange. The amount of time will depend on the temperature of the cream cheese and the power of your microwave. Usually takes 3-5 rounds of microwaving/stirring. Serve warm with rice crackers.
