Don't worry it's not that hot if you use Crystal or Franks Hot sauce because the cream cheese mellows it all out! Great with small crusty pieces of French bread.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium spanish onion - diced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 package bacon 16 oz
  • 2 - 8 oz packages cream cheese
  • 1 - 15 oz can black beans - drained
  • 6 ounces crystal or frank's hot sauce
  • 6 ounces tomato or vegtable juice

How To Make creole congri dip

  • Step 1
    In a dutch oven or heavy large pot cook bacon until very crisp, remove, drain, crumble and reserve bacon
  • Step 2
    Remove all but 3 tablespoons of bacon fat then add diced onion and bell pepper & cook until well softened
  • Step 3
    Add minced garlic,cream cheese, black beans, reserved bacon, hot sauce & tomato juice - blend well
  • Step 4
    Pour into large casserole dish and bake at 350 for 30 minutes
