Don't worry it's not that hot if you use Crystal or Franks Hot sauce because the cream cheese mellows it all out! Great with small crusty pieces of French bread.

  • 1 medium
    spanish onion - diced
  • 1 medium
    green bell pepper
  • 4 clove
    garlic minced
  • 1 pkg
    bacon 16 oz
  • 2
    8 oz packages cream cheese
  • 1
    15 oz can black beans - drained
  • 6 oz
    crystal or frank's hot sauce
  • 6 oz
    tomato or vegtable juice

How to Make Creole Congri Dip


  1. In a dutch oven or heavy large pot cook bacon until very crisp, remove, drain, crumble and reserve bacon
  2. Remove all but 3 tablespoons of bacon fat then add diced onion and bell pepper & cook until well softened
  3. Add minced garlic,cream cheese, black beans, reserved bacon, hot sauce & tomato juice - blend well
  4. Pour into large casserole dish and bake at 350 for 30 minutes
