Turned out to be a great gift at Christmas. You can drizzle it over pasta, pizza, brush it on grilled meats, add some to your favorite dishes! I make a double batch when I use it for gifts.
chopped, dried red chilies
whole red chilies
How To Make
In a skillet, mix 1C. peanut oil and 6Tbs. dried red chilies. Cook 10 minutes over very low heat. Allow to cool.
When cool, add 2-3 tsp. ground cayenne pepper and 1-2 Tbs. sesame oil. Cover and let stand for at least 12 hours.
Strain through a lined funnel into a sterilized jar or bottle. Add 2-3 whole dried chilies for a decorative effect. Keep in a cool dark place.
