I won my first recipe contest with this crab dip recipe in 1980. Do it right - Do NOT use imitation or claw crab meat, BACKFIN only! Do NOT skip the Old Bay seasoning! Taste the authentic dip.

Ingredients
- 1 pint sour cream
- 2 packages 8-oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 teaspoons ground mustard
- 3 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- - juice of 1 lemon
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 teaspoons old bay seafood seasoning
- 2 tablespoons milk (optional)
- 1 pound backfin crabmeat, picked over
- 1/2 cup extra sharp cheddar cheese
How To Make chesapeake crab dip

Step 1Heat oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2In a medium bowl, mix all ingredients, in order, given, except milk, crab and cheese.

Step 3Thin mixture with milk (if desired).

Step 4Gently fold in crab meat.

Step 5Scoop into lightly greased 13x9x2-inch baking dish.

Step 6Top with cheese.

Step 7Bake at 45 minutes.

Step 8Serve with snack crackers of choice.
