Ingredients

  • - 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • - 1 red onion, julienned
  • - 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • - 1 cup mayonnaise
  • - 1 cup sour cream
  • - 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • - 1 teaspoon chili pepper flakes
  • - 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • - kosher salt, to taste

How To Make caramelized french onion dip

  • Step 1
    In sauté pan over medium high heat add oil and onions. Saute for 3 minutes and then reduce heat to low and add sugar. Cook onions on low for 20 minutes; remove and cool.
  • Step 2
    In mixing bowl add mayonnaise, sour cream, garlic powder, chili pepper flakes and black pepper. Stir in cooled caramelized onions and season with salt to taste.
