I make this every time I need to make a dish to pass for a gathering. I always bring the recipe with me because I always get requests for it.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 large vidalia onions, diced fine
  • 2 cups mayonnaise
  • 1(8 oz) can water chestnuts, diced fine
  • 1/4 cup white wine
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 6 ounces swiss cheese, shredded

How To Make baked vidalia onion dip

  • Step 1
Saute onions and garlic in butter until soft Mix remaining ingredients together, then add sauteed onions and garlic. Spray or lightly grease a glass baking dish. (this bakes better in glass) Bake at 375 for 30-40 min I serve it with little garlic toasts. Slice one baguette into thin toasts, brush with olive oil and sprinkle lightly with garlic powder and toast on a baking sheet under a low broiler. Keep a very close eye on this, they will burn fast!!
