awesome but simple cheese dip

This cheese sauce is wonderful with tortilla chips. Serve warm or cold. Taste great either way. I have added salsa at times for a change. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound velveeta cheese, chopped
  • 3 - green onions, chopped
  • 1 -7oz can green chilies, diced, undrained
  • - all purpose flour
  • 1 stick butter or margarine
  • 1-12oz can evaporated milk
  • 1 bag - tortilla chips

How To Make awesome but simple cheese dip

  • Step 1
    Chop cheese into 1" blocks. Chop gr. onions.
  • Step 2
    In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt butter. Add enough flour to make thick paste. Slowly stir in evaporated milk. Add cheese, green onions and green chilies, undrained. Stir well. Continue stirring till cheese is melted.
  • Step 3
    Serve warm as a dip with tortilla chips or as sauce over tortillas with your choice of toppings. Gr. onions, shredded lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, etc...
