this is a great chocolate syrup to serve over ice cream and pies or what ever else you may want to put on it i love it by it self but not to much

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, light
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup hersheys cocoa powder
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

How To Make homemade chocolate syrup

  • Step 1
    in a medium saucepan whisk together salt, sugars and cocoa until they are combined and there are no lumps.
  • Step 2
    add the water and whisk to combine. turn heat to medium and bring to a boil, whisking frequently.
  • Step 3
    reduce the heat to medium low whisking occasionally. allow the mixture to simmer until it has slightly reduced and. thickened
  • Step 4
    remove from the heat and stir in vanilla. pour into a mason jar and allow to come to room temperature. cover and refrigerate.
