homemade chocolate syrup
I got tired of having the chocolate syrup disappearing every time I brought a bottle home from the store. So after some experimenting I came up with this recipe...enjoy!

Ingredients
- 1 1/3 cups cocoa powder
- 2 1/4 cups granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt if desired
- 1 1/3 cups boiling water
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
How To Make homemade chocolate syrup

Step 1In heavy sauce pan combine cocoa powder, sugar and salt. Gradually stir in boiling water and cook over medium heat until smooth and slightly thickened, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.

Step 2Pour mixture into a 3 cup container with a tight fitting lid and store in refrigerator. This will keep for about 3 weeks.

Step 3Makes about 2 2/3 cups chocolate syrup.
