1/2 cup (1 stick) salted butter
•
1 cup dark brown sugar
•
1/3 cup heavy cream
•
1/2 teaspoon salt
•
3-4 cups powdered sugar, sifted
•
additional pinch of salt, as needed

salted caramel candies for decoration, optional
