1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup light brown sugar, packed
2 large eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
12 ounces semisweet chocolate, roughly chopped
1 cup toffee pieces (we used Heath bars)
