Salisbury Steak Meatballs (Low Carb & Gluten Free)

1 pound ground beef, lean
1/3 cup almond meal for gluten free/low carb version (or bread crumbs if preferred)
1/3 cup chopped parsley
1 small onion finely chopped
1 egg
5 cloves garlic minced
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil
16 ounces mushrooms, sliced
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup yellow onion, sliced ¼ inch thick
4 cloves garlic minced
2 cups beef broth
2 tablespoons fresh chopped parsley (more for garnish)
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce or balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon Italian Seasoning
1 teaspoon salt and pepper
