Ingredients

  • 1 cup ditalini or elbow macaroni
  • 1 1/2 cups fully-cooked ham, cut into small cubes
  • 4 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup frozen peas, thawed
  • 1 stalk celery, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons pimento, diced
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sweet pickle relish
  • 1 or 2 tablespoons milk, if needed
  • - salt and pepper, to taste

How To Make ham and macaroni salad

  • Step 1
    Cook pasta according to package directions; drain, rinse with cold water, and drain again.
  • Step 2
    In small bowl, mix mayonnaise, relish, milk, and salt and pepper. Set aside.
  • Step 3
    Combine pasta and remaining ingredients in a large bowl. Pour dressing over top and toss to coat.
  • Step 4
    Chill for 4 hours or overnight.
  • Step 5
    Serving suggestion: garnish with sliced cherry tomatoes and fresh parsley.
