This recipe is easy to make. Because it's sweet, it's the perfect side dish for teriyaki marinated salmon on the grill or a smoked pull pork dish. The crunchiness of this dish is what makes it taste so good!

Ingredients

  • 1 - head of napa cabbage
  • 5 - scallions
  • 2 packages ramen noodles soup (throw out seasoning packet)
  • 1/2 cup sesame seeds
  • 1 stick butter, unsalted
  • 2 packages small packages of slivered almonds
  • 1 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1 cup sugar

How To Make crunchy slaw

  • Step 1
    Smash the Ramen noodles. Brown ramen noodles, sesame seeds, and almonds in the melted butter until light tan in color.
  • Step 2
    Chop the cabbage and scallions fine.
  • Step 3
    Store the noodle combo and the cabbage mixture separately.
  • Step 4
    Mix dressing: olive oil, white vinegar, soy sauce and sugar together until sugar dissolves. Store dressing separately.
  • Step 5
    20 minutes before serving, mix cabbage, onion, and nut mixture with dressing. Start with half of the dressing and add more, if necessary. This will not keep once mixed together.
