I used to always buy pre-made cole slaw for years, until I noticed they started selling pre-shredded cabbage and carrots. I've made my own ever since.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon celery seeds
  • 2 packages cole slaw mix (i like the tri-colored), about 5 cups

How To Make cole slaw

  • Step 1
    Whisk together ingredients for dressing in a non-metal bowl until sugar dissolves.
  • Step 2
    Toss with slaw vegetables of choice.
  • Step 3
    Refrigerate at least 4 hours, or better, overnight. Toss well before serving.
