  • ·
    1 head lettuce, shredded
  • ·
    1/2 cup diced celery
  • ·
    1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • ·
    1 can water chestnuts, sliced
  • ·
    2 (10 oz.) packages frozen peas
  • ·
    2 cups mayonnaise
  • ·
    1 tablespoon sugar
  • ·
    1/2 cup parmesan cheese
  • ·
    1/2 lb. bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • ·
    5 hard boiled eggs, chopped
  • ·
    6 tomatoes, cut unto wedges

How to Make Amish Salad


  1. Layer lettuce, celery, onion, chestnuts and peas into large container.
  2. Spread with mayonnaise and sprinkle with sugar and parmesan cheese.
  3. Refrigerate overnight.
  4. Cook bacon and crumble.
  5. Add bacon, eggs and tomatoes just before serving.
