This was my mother-in-law's recipe. It was a must have menu item for every Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner.

Stove Top



  • 12 oz
    cranberries, fresh or frozen, ground
  • 2 medium
    oranges, ground
  • 1/2
    peel of one orange, ground
  • 2 c
    sugar, scant

  • 1 pkg
    (3 oz) cherry jello
  • 1 c
    boiling water
  • 1 c
    cranberry relish (recipe above)
  • 1 c
    nuts, ground or chopped finely
  • 1 c
    crushed pineapple, not drained

How to Make Jane's Cranberry Salad


  1. Prepare CRANBERRY RELISH by stirring all ingredients together. Refrigerate, at least overnight before use.
  2. CRANBERRY SALAD: Dissolve Jell-O in boiling water, add other ingredients. Allow to set.
    NOTE: No other additional liquid is needed. It has only the boiling water to dissolve the Jell-O and the liquid from the canned pineapple. This sets to be a firm mixture.
