My daughter loves 5 cup salad, but she likes to add a bit more than 5 cups of ingredients...I call it her 9 1/2 cup salad...She actually made 2 salads...one her way and one the traditional way...Here is her version...enjoy!

Ingredients For daughters ambrosia salad

  • 1 c
    fresh green seedless grapes / halved
  • 1 c
    fresh red seedless grapes / halved
  • 1 c
    drained and patted dry, marachino cherries - halved
  • 1 c
    chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 1 c
    drained mandarin oranges
  • 1 c
    pineapple chunks, drained
  • 1 1/2 c
    sour cream - more if too dry
  • 1 c
    flaked, sweetened coconut
  • 1 c
    mini marshmallows

How To Make daughters ambrosia salad

  • 1
    Place all fruit, coconut, nuts in a large bowl. Stir in sour cream to coat evenly. Chill several hours before serving.
