Great side dish to have at BBQ's. Easy to make and good whether you make the dressing yourself of use shop bought dressing. I have also added chopped cucumber and it changes it up slightly and it makes the dish go a little further. It's a hit with all the family and you can substitute wheat pasta and lo-fat dressing if you want a healthier dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound pre-cooked de-veined shrimp (cut in halves)
  • 1 pound tri-colored pasta
  • 1 small onion finely diced
  • - mrs dash garlic & herb seasoning (to taste)
  • 1 bottle thousand island dressing (or make your own-recipe below)
  • - salt and pepper (to taste)
  • THOUSAND ISLAND DRESSING (1)
  • 1 1/8 cups mayonnaise
  • 4 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 3 teaspoons sugar
  • 4 teaspoons sweet pickle relish
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • THOUSAND ISLAND DRESSING (2)
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup chilli sauce (maggi's)
  • 2 - eggs, hard boiled and chopped
  • 2 tablespoons green onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons celery, chopped
  • 4 1/2 teaspoons onions, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

How To Make shrimp pasta salad

  • Step 1
    Cook pasta until tender, drain and run under cold water to cool. .
  • Step 2
    Add balance of ingredients and mix well, use Mrs Dash & Salt & Pepper to taste
  • Step 3
    BOTH THOUSAND ISLAND DRESSING RECIPES = Mix all ingredients together and chill before using
