Many years ago, someone in the family collected recipes from descendants of my great grandparents, William M. and Florence E. (Snodgrass) Whaley and had them compiled into a cookbook. I am posting those recipes here so that they will not be lost. This recipe was submitted by Donna Swindle.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups macaroni, boiled and drained
  • 3/4 cup italian dressing
  • 1 - onion
  • - green pepper
  • - celery
  • - carrots
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3 small tomatoes
  • DRESSING
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

How To Make macaroni salad

  • Step 1
    Mix cooked and drained macaroni and Italian dressing. Refrigerate for 3 hours. Drain Italian dressing off of the macaroni.
  • Step 2
    Chop onion, tomatoes, green pepper, celery and carrots. Add chopped vegetables to drained macaroni.
  • Step 3
    Mix mayonnaise and sour cream together. Add to macaroni and vegetables and mix well. Sprinkle with paprika, if desired.
