  • 1 lb
    elbow macaroni or shells, cooked and drained
  • 6 oz
    cheddar cheese, cut into small dice
  • 1 1/2 c
    baby peas (thawed if frozen)
  • 1 medium
    green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 medium
    onion, chopped
  • 2/3 c
    sweet pickle relish
  • 1/4 c
  • 1/4 c
    yogurt or sour cream
  • 1/4 c
    pimientos, chopped
  • ·
    white pepper, to taste

How to Make Boarding House Macaroni Salad


  1. In a large bowl, mix together all the ingredients.
  2. Refrigerate, covered, for at least 1 hour to develop the flavors.
  3. The salad keeps well for several days.
