This is a very good recipe to fix during the winter when you can't get good lettuce. My Mom use to make it all the time and keep it for us in the refrigerator.

Ingredients

  • SAUCE
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon green bean juice
  • 1/2 cup canola oil
  • 3/4 cup cider vinegar
  • VEGETABLES USED IN SALAD
  • 1 can tiny peas (leseur)
  • 1 can shoe peg corn
  • 1 can french style green beans
  • 1 jar small jar of pimento
  • 1 cup green pepper (chopped)
  • 1 cup celery (chopped)
  • 1 cup onions (white chopped)

How To Make vegetable salad

  • Step 1
    Combine first five ingredients in sauce pan and bring to a boil. Set aside to cool. Drain next four ingredients and put in bowl. Chop up green pepper, celery and onion and add to ingredients in bowl. Pour cooled sauce over ingredients in the bowl. Place in refrigerator over nite and serve next day. Store in refrigerator in airtight container.
