Many regions in the world have their own dishes such as salads, soups, etc. Many times the main ingredients are the same but for say a salad, the dressing is different. This salad is Japanese in origin. And it is good.

  • 500 g
    cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/2
    small onion, thinly sliced, think mandolin
  • 1/2-1
    green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 2 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    rice vinegar
  • 6
    shiso leaves chopped, or basil or coriander

How to Make Tomato & Onion Salad


  1. In a large mixing bowl, mix together the oil, soy sauce, and rice vinegar.
  2. Prep the tomatoes, onion, and bell pepper, and add to the mixing bowl.
  3. Toss with the dressing. Sprinkle on the shiso or basil or coriander, serve.
