Many regions in the world have their own dishes such as salads, soups, etc. Many times the main ingredients are the same but for say a salad, the dressing is different. This salad is Japanese in origin. And it is good.

Ingredients For tomato & onion salad

  • 500 g
    cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/2
    small onion, thinly sliced, think mandolin
  • 1/2-1
    green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 2 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    rice vinegar
  • 6
    shiso leaves chopped, or basil or coriander

How To Make tomato & onion salad

    In a large mixing bowl, mix together the oil, soy sauce, and rice vinegar.

    Prep the tomatoes, onion, and bell pepper, and add to the mixing bowl.
  • Tomato & Onion Salad.
    Toss with the dressing. Sprinkle on the shiso or basil or coriander, serve.
