This is a Swedish-style crab salad that is a little different and very tasty. Enjoy! Recipe from my Three Rivers cookbook.

  • 7 1/2 oz
    can of good quality lump crabmeat
  • 10 oz
    package of frozen peas
  • 4 oz
    fresh mushrooms, sliced lengthwise
  • 5 oz
    can of asparagus tips, drained and cut into pieces
  • ·
    lettuce leafs (enough to line a serving bowl - romaine works well)

  • 1/2 c
    whipping cream
  • 1/3 c
    mayonnaise (helmans)
  • 3 Tbsp
    chili sauce
  • ·
    fresh dill sprigs

How to Make Swedish Crab Salad (Krabbsallad)


  1. Very quickly, rinse the crab meat in cold water and drain. Let the peas thaw while the crab is draining.
  2. Combine the crab meat, thawed peas, mushrooms, and asparagus in a salad bowl.lined with lettuce leafs.
  3. Whip the cream and mix in the mayo and chili sauce. Pour this dressing over the crab mixture and carefully toss the salad with two forks. Garnish with the dill sprigs. Enjoy!
