This is from one of my favorite regional cookbooks, What Can I Bring, by the Junior League of Northern Virginia. A different side dish salad that's easy to prepare.

vegetable oil

white vinegar

petit peas
1. 16oz can(s)
french style green beans
1. 16oz can(s)
shoe peg corn
1. Small jar(s)
pimientos, chopped
1 c
celery, chopped
1 c
carrots, finely chopped
1 c
green pepper, chopped
1 c
onion, chopped

How to Make Reston Veggie Salad


  • 1Boil first 3 ingredients in a small saucepan until sugar dissolves
  • 2Drain canned vegetables.
  • 3Combine peas and next 7 ingredients in a large bowl. Pour dressing over salad and chill overnight. Stir before serving.
