This is from one of my favorite regional cookbooks, What Can I Bring, by the Junior League of Northern Virginia. A different side dish salad that's easy to prepare.

Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3/4 cup white vinegar
- 1. 17oz cans petit peas
- 1. 16oz cans french style green beans
- 1. 16oz cans shoe peg corn
- 1. Small jar pimientos, chopped
- 1 cup celery, chopped
- 1 cup carrots, finely chopped
- 1 cup green pepper, chopped
- 1 cup onion, chopped
How To Make reston veggie salad

Step 1Boil first 3 ingredients in a small saucepan until sugar dissolves

Step 2Drain canned vegetables.

Step 3Combine peas and next 7 ingredients in a large bowl. Pour dressing over salad and chill overnight. Stir before serving.
