This is a favorite cabbage salad. Each time I make it, someone usually requests the recipe.

  • 1
    head of napa cabbage, chopped
  • 1
    medium green pepper
  • 8-10
    green onions
  • NEXT:

  • 2 pkg
    chicken flavor ramen noodles
  • 3/4 c
    sliced almonds
  • 1/2 c
    sesame seeds

  • 1 1/4 c
    vegetable oil
  • 1/3 c
    rice wine vinegar
  • 2/3 c
  • 1 tsp
    salt and pepper

How to Make Ramen Cabbage Salad or Texas Panhandle Cabbage


  1. Chop and mix together: cabbage, green pepper and onions
  2. Crush noodles and saute with almonds and sesame seeds in 2 T margarine until lightly browned. Cool. Sprinkle with seasoning packets from noodles. Place in separate container from the greens and refrigerate.
  3. Just before serving, toss all three mixtures together. I use about 1/2 of the dressing for this recipe).
