Ingredients

  • 4 cups frozen peas, thawed (about 16 oz)
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/3 cup minced water chestnuts, optional
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped red onion
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/3 cup mayo
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 6 - 8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled

How To Make pea salad with bacon

  • Step 1
    Combine peas, cheese, water chestnuts, and onion in a large bowl.
  • Step 2
    In another bowl, combine sour cream, mayo, sugar, salt, and pepper.
  • Step 3
    Pour over pea mix and combine thoroughly.
  • Step 4
    Refrigerate, covered, at least 30 minutes. Stir in bacon before serving.
