I take this to summer pitch-ins for something different. It is a fun twist on slaw and the ramen noodles and almonds provide a great texture against the cabbage.

Ingredients

1 lb
cabbage, shredded
2 pkg
ramen noodles
1 pkg
almonds, slivered (2 ounces)
1/4 c
butter
1 c
vinegar
1 c
oil
3/4 c
sugar
2 Tbsp
soy sauce
2
green onions, chopped

How to Make Oriental Slaw

Step-by-Step

  • 1Remove seasoning packets from ramen noodles and set aside.
  • 2Crumble ramen noodles.
  • 3In a skillet, over medium heat, cook noodles and almonds in butter until lightly browned. Set aside.
  • 4Combine vinegar, oil, sugar, soy sauce, and season packets from ramen noodles in a jar. Close, shake well, then refrigerate.
  • 5Immediately before serving, toss together noodle mixture, dressing, onions and cabbage.
