I got this recipe from a local grocer's deli as I loved theirs so much and asked how it was made. It is great served with sandwiches or a side with dinner. A family favorite! ENJOY!

Ingredients
- 2 - 10 oz. packages of frozen peas, thawed
- 8 ounces sliced water chestnuts, drained
- 1 cup cheese, cubed - i.e., velveeta or american
- 1/2 cup green onions, chopped
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise (do not substitute)
- 1/4 cup sour cream
How To Make old fashioned pea salad

Step 1Blend together peas, water chestnuts, green onions, and cheese. In a separate bowl, blend mayonnaise and sour cream; spoon over pea mixture and gently stir to coat. You can also add celery (1 cup) and salt and pepper to taste. It should be refrigerated for a few hours before serving.
