mason's cornbread salad
Many years ago, someone in the family collected recipes from descendants of my great grandparents, William M. and Florence E. (Snodgrass) Whaley and had them compiled into a cookbook. I am posting those recipes here so that they will not be lost. This recipe was submitted by Lynette and Mason Lee Benton Jr.

Ingredients
- 1 package corn bread mix, prepared and baked as directed on package
- 1 pound bacon, fried until crisp, crumbled
- 1 cup fresh green onions,
- - mayonnaise
How To Make mason's cornbread salad

Step 1Crumble corn bread into serving bowl.

Step 2Add crumbled bacon and diced onions.

Step 3Add enough mayonnaise to moisten the salad. Serve and enjoy.

Step 4If green onions are out of season, purple onions are a good substitute.
