  • 1(large)
    cabbage head
  • 1
    carrot (optional)
  • 1
    green bell pepper
  • 1
  • 3/4 c
    plus 2 tablespoons oil
  • 3/4 c
    plus 2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 1 c
  • 1 tsp
  • 1/2 tsp
    celery seed

How to Make Marinated Cole Slaw


  1. Shred cabbage and carrot.
  2. Chop pepper and onion. Mix and set aside.
  3. In saucepan, make marinade of oil,vinegar,sugar and salt and celery seed
  4. Pour over slaw and do not stir.
  5. Cover and marinate overnight.
  6. Serve with slotted spoon. Stays crisp 7 to 10 days.
