Gruner salad

Nancy Faivre

There is a furniture store about an hour or so from us that takes up a whole city block. They even have a bed and breakfast and a little restaurant in the store. This salad is one they are famous for. Hope you like it as much as we do!

How to Make Gruner salad

  • 1Mix and boil one minute; and let cool in refrigerator before putting on cabbage.

    HINT: I usually don't use this much dressing, in fact you only need maybe 1/3 to 1/2 the recipe, but I wanted to put the correct recipe in case you were making it for a large crowd.
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees:
    1 package ramen noodles {MINUS the seasoning packet}
    2 tablespoons almond slices
    2 tablespoons sesame seeds
    2 tablespoons margarine
  • 3Melt the margarine and add the sesame seeds, almonds, and noodles. Brown in the oven at 350 degrees stirring every 10 minutes for thirty minutes.
  • 4Salad:
    one head of napa cabbage, chopped
    two green onions, chopped

    just before serving, combine salad with 1/3 cup of dressing, and top with topping. Delicious! Enjoy!
