Ingredients

  • FOR THE VINAIGRETTE
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon whole grain mustard
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • salt & pepper
  • FOR THE PECANS
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup pecans
  • FOR THE SALAD
  • 1 head leaf lettuce torn into pieces
  • 2 large pears peeled and sliced
  • 5 ounces gorganzola cheese crumbled
  • 1/2 cup scallions finely diced
  • 1 avocado peeled pitted and diced

How To Make gorganzola pear salad

  • Step 1
    For the vinaigrette Mix all ingredients together in a jar and set aside in fridge.
  • Step 2
    For the pecans Place the pecans and sugar in a saucepan over med high heat. Cook until sugar has melted stirring constantly. Lay out on wax paper to cool. Do not put on paper towels it will stick.
  • Step 3
    To complete the dish. Layer the lettuce first, then cheese, then green onions. pears and avocado. Pour dressing over salad and sprinkle with pecans.
