Ingredients
- FOR THE VINAIGRETTE
- 1/3 cup olive oil
- 3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
- 2 teaspoons white sugar
- 1 teaspoon whole grain mustard
- 1 clove garlic minced
- salt & pepper
- FOR THE PECANS
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup pecans
- FOR THE SALAD
- 1 head leaf lettuce torn into pieces
- 2 large pears peeled and sliced
- 5 ounces gorganzola cheese crumbled
- 1/2 cup scallions finely diced
- 1 avocado peeled pitted and diced

Step 1For the vinaigrette Mix all ingredients together in a jar and set aside in fridge.

Step 2For the pecans Place the pecans and sugar in a saucepan over med high heat. Cook until sugar has melted stirring constantly. Lay out on wax paper to cool. Do not put on paper towels it will stick.

Step 3To complete the dish. Layer the lettuce first, then cheese, then green onions. pears and avocado. Pour dressing over salad and sprinkle with pecans.
