I found this in a book of salads from 1978 , I have not tried it but it sounds interesting.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb
    cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1 c
    mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp
    tabasco sauce
  • 1 tsp
    sea salt
  • 1 c
    cream , whipped
  • 2 c
    crab meat
  • 1 c
    chopped celery
  • 1 c
    chopped green pepper
  • 1/2 c
    grated carrots
  • 1 Tbsp
    chopped onions
  • ·
    lettuce leaves

How to Make Frozen Crab Salad

Step-by-Step

  1. Blend cream cheese and mayonnaise , tabasco , and salt together.
  2. Fold in the whipped cream.
  3. Blend in crab , celery , green pepper , carrots and onion.
  4. Pour into two freezer trays ; freeze until solid ; about 6-8 hours.
  5. Remove from the freezer and let stand at room temperature for about 15 minutes before slicing ; Serve on lettuce leaves.
