Nancy J. Patrykus

A friend of mine was telling me about a salad she tasted in Colo. last month. With a cheese and a mayo dressing. That dressing was not to my liking.
So this is the dressing I devised, after tweaking it a couple times.
My dressing is a combination is balsamic vinegar, oil, dill weed & lemon pepper, this really puts my recipe over the top!
My personal opinion.
I think it turned out good enough to serve it on Grandmas favorite serving dish! I hope you will enjoy the flavors as well as I do.
Of course a pretty serving dish always makes it taste better and sets the salad off!

1Cucumbers skinned, and scored down with a fork,
for pretty appearance.
Grandma always said scoring gets rid of any bitterness!
Can't hurt
Slice cukes then cut slices in half.

Add prepared green onions and celery. STIR.
String sugar peas, cut of ends,
Slice in half the long length.
Then slice each half into 3 long slices.
If the wee peas pop out...
add to bowl, and mix.
2Put cucumbers in mixing bowl,
with the balsamic vinegar, dill weed,
lemon pepper oil and sugar...
Mix well.
3Dump into a pretty serving dish,
cover with saran wrap,
and chill till serving time.
Adding a few carrot curls for color,
and even a couple radish roses on top,
would be nice for this recipe.
4Picture of grandmas serving dish.
Inside bottom of dish is smooth.
The outside bottom of dish is ribbed,
It is so pretty.....a family heirloom,
that reflects light like a mirror!!
Heavy and very sturdy!
