I have been looking through my mothers recipes about six boxes and have found recipes I haven't had for many years, today is Sunday and the perfect day to sit and go through these great memories, because with each recipe there is a story behind it.

Ingredients For creamy yam salad

  • 2 lg
    apples your choice
  • 2 lb
    yams, microwaved, peeled, sm. cubes
  • 1/2 c
    pecans, chopped
  • 1/4 c
  • 1/2 to 3/4 c
  • 1/4 to 1/2 c
    sour cream
  • 1 Tbsp
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 tsp

How To Make creamy yam salad

  • 1
    Wash and core apples then cut into sm cubes, Cook yams in microwave oven on high until yams are done, or you can boil them til done your choice.

    Mix apples, yams,cranraisins and pecans in a medium size bowl.

    Combine remaining ingredients and add to yam mixture, stir well and chill at least one hour. Enjoy

    Note: I like a creamier dressing so that is why I said to use 1/4 to 1/2 mayo and the same with the sour cream, it is up to you on which way to go.
